Wiring diagrams help technicians to view how a controls are wired to the system. Many people can read and understand schematics referred to as label or line diagrams. This type of diagram is similar to having a photograph with the parts and wires all connected up.

What’s Wiring Diagram
A wiring diagram is a kind of schematic which uses abstract pictorial symbols showing all the interconnections of components in a system. Wiring diagrams include a couple of things: symbols that represent the ingredients in the circuit, and lines that represent the connections bewteen barefoot and shoes. Therefore, from wiring diagrams, you already know the relative location of the ingredients and how these are connected. It’s a language engineers need to learn when they work on electronics projects.
Wiring Diagram VS. Schematics
It’s an easy task to get unclear about wiring diagrams and schematics. Wiring diagrams mainly shows the physical position of components and connections within the built circuit, but not necessarily in logic order. It emphasizes for the layout from the wires. Schematics emphasize on how circuits work logically. It reduces integrated circuits into sub-components to create the system’s functional logics much easier to understand . It’s very useful for learning the entire operation of the system.
How to Read Wiring Diagram
To read a wiring diagram, firstly you need to know what fundamental elements are included in a very wiring diagram, and which pictorial symbols are widely-used to represent them. The common elements in the wiring diagram are ground, power source, wire and connection, output devices, switches, resistors, logic gate, lights, etc. A list of electrical symbols and descriptions can be found around the “electrical symbol” page.
Line Junction
A line represents a wire. Wires are widely-used to connect the components together. All points down the wire are identical and connected. Wires on some places must cross one another, but that does not necessarily mean that they connect. A black dot is used to indicate the injunction of two lines. Main lines are represented by L1, L2, and the like. Usually different colors are used to distinguish the wires. There should be a legend on the wiring diagram to inform you what each color means.
Types of Connection
Usually circuits using more than two components have two basic types of connections: series and parallel. A series circuit is often a circuit through which components are connected along an individual path, and so the current flows through one element of get through to the next one. In a series circuit, voltages accumulate for all components connected within the circuit, and currents are similar through all components. In a parallel circuit, each device is directly coupled to the power source, so each device receives a similar voltage. The current in a parallel circuit flows along each parallel branch and re-combines if the branches meet again.
Tips to Draw Good-looking Wiring Diagrams
A good wiring diagram has to be technically correct and clear to see. Take care of everything. For example, the diagram should show the proper direction of the negative and positive terminals of each and every component.
Use the correct symbols. Learn the meanings of the basic circuit symbols and select the correct ones to use. Some in the symbols have really close look. You must find a way to see the differences before applying them.
Draw connecting wires as straight lines. Use a dot to suggest line junction, or use line jumps to indicate cross lines that aren’t connected.
Label components such as resistors and capacitors using values. Make sure the text placement looks clean.
In general it is good to set the positive (+) supply at the pinnacle, and also the negative (-) supply at the bottom, and also the logical flow from left to right.
Try to set up the position reducing wire crossings.
